Environmental Preservation and Protection

One of the unique characteristics with Graffiti Removal Team is our dedication to Environmental Preservation and Protection and occupational health and safety. These demanding principles are not easily overcome for a small company in a competitive marketplace. Our graffiti removal procedures take longer and products cost many times the price as traditional removal chemicals. Clients for the most part are looking for effective removal at the least expensive price. Graffiti Removal Team in turn makes financial sacrifices in order to provide services that sustain an ecologically safe and healthy environment.

Our position on Environmental Preservation and Protection is widely stated and known. Unfortunately, some companies claim to be environmentally friendly but do not deliver. Graffiti Removal Team does not change products or procedures in order to secure individual contracts. We have a proven track record for practicing what we preach, that’s guaranteed. We have an open book policy for the products we use and our methodologies. A booklet detailing our products, policies and practices has been distributed to numerous organizations for their review and comments. Including:

Each and every product Graffiti Removal Team uses are 100% environmentally safe and biodegradable in water and soil and safe for our workers to use. No protective masks, vapour cartridges or special suits are required for outdoor use.

  • Water based
  • Non-carcinogenic
  • Non-flammable
  • No HAP’s or TAP’s (hazardous or toxic air pollutants)
  • No regulated VOC’s
  • Non regulated by authorities for workers health and safety (WHMIS)

Graffiti Removal Team follows all bylaws for storm sewer and watercourse discharge. All of the products we use non-toxic, contain no chlorinated phenols and the PH levels are all within the 6.0 – 9.0 range.

We conduct all our operations in a complete environmentally safe manner, guaranteed. We do not use any toxic or environmentally damaging chemicals. We have an open book policy to provide Data Sheets for the products we use. Be environmentally responsible for yourself, your clients or tenants; find out what contractors are using on your property. It’s the law and your responsibility.

We take it a step further. Though we live and work in Canadian Communities and follow local regulations, Graffiti Removal Team conducts its own research into product safety. We use many reference bodies and one of the best we found was the California Environmental Protection Agency.

By following standards that are higher than local and federal standards, Graffiti Removal Team is able to better protect our workers safety, the environment, and the public’s health.

According to Workers Compensation Board Occupational Hygiene Officer “do to financial constraints within WCB, we are unable to conduct the testing that is required to keep up with new chemicals, products or further testing achievable from new technology. The occupational Health and Safety Regulations were written in 1997 and intended to be updated each year. We really haven’t been able to update in five years.”

One example is the chemical N-methylpyrrolidone (NMP), which in 2001 the California EPA office of environmental health hazard added it to the list of chemicals known to cause reproductive toxicity for purposes of the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act. NMP is widely used by many removal companies.
